God Bless Our Schools

God Bless Our Schools

So, this past week I had the pleasure to teach a 6th Grade English Language Arts classroom, and boy, let me tell you, they’re a fun group. I’ve mentioned in a previous blog post that every time I leave the school after teaching, I feel inspired, burdened, and excited. I love teaching. It’s so rewarding. After one of my lessons last week, a little girl came up to me after class and said, “Miss Elizabeth, you are such a great teacher.” One of the biggest compliments I’ve ever received came from a little girl I barely knew. My Mother’s Hands

My Mother’s Hands

I’ve recently written a paper about the relationship of children with their parents in literature. Authors so often use that relationship as some type of metaphor or symbol in their writing because it’s just so unique. There truly is no other type of relationship like it in the world. Tuesdays With (YOU)

Tuesdays With (YOU)

Happy Tuesday, everyone!!! I am so exited about this post because it is soooo relevant to my life right now. So in my “About Me” page, you can find that I get a lot of inspiration from the books I read. Saying I love to read is an understatement, but a lot of people already know that. But, what a lot of people do not know is that I love Tuesdays! Tuesdays? Yes, Tuesdays, and it all comes from a book I read once. It’s not very long and is an easy read, but it has so many good points. Just one of those books that has “helped me grow” (See blog post “Growing”). This also seems fitting because I just this week started my last semester of observation hours before I student teach in the fall. I leave every afternoon motivated, burdened, and excited to become the best teacher I can possibly be. Continue reading “Tuesdays With (YOU)”

Growing

Growing

Since I’m so fresh off the plane from Germany that I’m still feeling jet lagged, you’re probably thinking this post will be all about my favorite tourist spots, where to eat, where to visit, and what to do, so I hope this doesn’t disappoint you. I’m sure you’re now expecting this to be a post about “10 Reasons Why You Have To Go To Germany”, which I could easily come up with, but it’s not. This post could be all about”How Germany Changed My Life”, but really, I didn’t change that much. Honestly, I didn’t want to change. Am I allowed to say that? This post is all about how and why I remained the same during my trip to a foreign country. Besides, isn’t it okay to be happy with who you are? Continue reading “Growing”
